Chinese Medicine STOMACH – Foot Yang Ming Acupuncture Meridian

ST 1 – local (i.e. nosebleed, paralysis, eye problems)

Location (chengqi):  directly below the pupil, between the pupil & the infraorbital ridge. 

ST 2 – local

Location (sibai):  1 cun below the pupil in the depression of the ingraorbital foramen.

ST 4 – local, inability to eat

Location (dicing):  4 fen lateral to the corner of the mouth.

ST 5 – local (i.e. ear problems, jaw problems)

Location (daying):  1.3 cun anterior to the angle of the mandible.

ST 6 – [Ghost points] local

Location (jiache):  at the prominence of the masseter muscle anterior superior to the angle of the mandible. 

ST 7 – local

Location (xiaguan):  in the depression directly below the zygomatic arch, anterior to the condyloid process.

ST 8 – any headache

Location (touwei):  4.5 cun lateral to the midline, .5 cun within the hairline (corner of hair), or 3.5 cun above the eyebrow. 

ST 9 – sore throat, dyspnea

Location (renying):  at the level of the adam’s apple on the anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle (caution- major blood vessels)

ST 12 – cough, sore throat

Location (quepen):  in the supraclavicular fossa, on the nipple line.

ST 15 – mastitis, cough, local

Location (wuyi):  4 cun from the midline in the 2nd intercostals space.

ST 16 – local, mastitis

Location (yingchuang):  4 cun from the midline in the 3rd intercostals space.

ST 18 – mastitis, lactation, placenta delivery

Location (rugen):  directly below the nipple in the 5th intercostals space.

ST 21 – nausea, vomit, loose stool

Location (liangmen):  2 cun lateral to the midline, 4 cun above the umbilicus.

ST 25 – [Alarm Mu of LI] diarrhea/constipation, edema, abdominal pain

Location (tianshu):  2 cun lateral to the umbilicus.

ST 28 – urinary blockage, hernia, dysentry

Location (shuidao):  2 cun lateral to the midline, 3 cun inferior to the umbilicus.

ST 30 – [meeting points of Chong Mai] genital pain, menstrual problems, hernia

Location (qichong):  2 cun lateral to the midline, level with the superior border of the pubic symphysis.

ST 32 – lumbar pain, cold knees, local paralysis

Location (futu):  in the middle of the anterior thigh, 6 cun above the patella.

ST 34 – [Xi-Cleft] pain, knee swelling, Stomach pain, mammary Yong

Location (liangqiu):  2 cun superior to the lateral border of the patella.

ST 36 – [Command points of abdomen, 9 needle to return Yang] harmonize mid Jiao, internal stagnation, thoracic Blood Stasis,

Wind/Damp, Yuan Qi, expels & prevents

Location (zusanli):  3 cun below the inferior border of the patella, one finger breadth lateral to the anterior crest of the tibia.

ST 37 – [Lower He of LI] intestinal Yong, abdominal pain, Damp/Heat

Location (shangjuxu):  3 cun inferior to zusanli, one finger breadth lateral to the anterior crest of the tibia.

ST 38 – shoulder pain, wind/damp

Location (tiaokou):  2 cun below shangjuxu

ST 39 – [Lower He of SI] constipation, Damp/Heat, mammary Yong, pinched spinal nerve testicular pain

Location (xiajuxu):  1 cun below tiaokou.

ST 40 – [Connect to SP] Spleen Lung Heart Phlegm, wheezing

Location (fenglong):  1 cun lateral to tiaokou.

ST 41 – Stomach Heat, food stagnation, facial swelling, constipation

Location (jiexi):  at the level of the tip of the external malleolus, between extensor hallucis longus & extensor digitorum longus.

ST 44 – Stomach Heat, food stagnation, nosebleed, diarrhea

Location (neiting):  on the dorsum of the foot, between the 2nd & 3rd toes, 0.5 cun proximal to the margin of the web.

ST 45 – excess dreaming/mania, facial swelling/paralysis

Location (lidui):  1 fen proximal to the lateral corner of the nail of the 2nd toe.
