Erin Flynn MSc BA R.TCM.P RAc

Erin Flynn, MSc, BA, R.TCM.P, RAc, is a graduate of the 5-year Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine diploma program from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver. In the summer of 2006, Erin travelled to the city of HeFei, in the People’s Republic of China, to complete a clinical internship in a Traditional Chinese Medicine hospital. Originally from the prairies, Erin was born in Manitoba and raised in Saskatchewan. She moved to Vancouver in 1996 to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Psychology, from Simon Fraser University. It was during her time at SFU that Erin was first inspired by the ideas of Eastern medicine. She then attended the University of Calgary, and earned a Master of Science degree in the department of Neuroscience, writing her Masters’ thesis on the effects of elevated blood oxygen levels during and after a stroke. The therapeutic success of something as simple as oxygen, versus the complexity of other researched methods and treatments, awoke in Erin a new curiosity for natural medicine. After working for 2 years in laboratory science, she decided to return to school in 2002 and study Chinese Medicine. Erin continues to be inspired by the beauty and efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine every day. She has a particular interest in the role that Chinese Medicine can play in women’s health and fertility. Erin currently lives in Vancouver with her boyfriend Adam and his border collie, Louie. When her attention is not focused on acupuncture and TCM, Erin likes to travel to places she’s never been before, especially if it somehow involves being on a boat.
