Chlorella is the safest algae to use for deficiency patterns when compared to all other algae’s.
Orally, chlorella is used as a food supplement and source of nutrients, including protein, nucleic acids, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Chlorella is also used orally for cancer prevention, stimulating the immune system, increasing white blood cell counts (e.g., in people with HIV infection or cancer), preventing colds, to protect the body from the effects of radiation (e.g., during cancer therapy), to protect the body from toxic metals such as lead and mercury, and to slow aging. Generally, wild blue green algae is the most commercial micro-algae and is cultivated and dried with some use of heat. It has the most extreme properties of all the micro algae. This micro-algae is best used for it’s anti-depressant qualities. It has remarkable healing value when applied correctly. This plant is so strong that if harvested at the wrong time the plant can possibly cause death.
Dunaliella – Micro Algae
Recently beoming popular, this micro algae has been found nutritionally less potent in chlorophyll and protein when compared to other micro algae but has larger doses beta-carotene (vitamin A).
Similar group to micro algae that contain high levels of chlorophyll. They generally appear commercially as wheat grass or barley grass / barley greens. Wheat grass and barley greens have nearly identical therapeutic properties although barley grass may digest more easily. In their dried state both these grass’s rank behind the micro-algae in chlorophyll and vitamin A. Cereal grass will contain similar amounts of protein as micro algae and meats but contain trace amounts of vitamin B12 and many other nutrients (cereal grass picks up approx 90 of the 102 minerals found in soil! ). Cereal grass’s also contain digestive enzymes not available in such a concentration in any other food. Both barley green (barley grass) and wheat grass slow cellular deterioration and mutations. An added bonus with these grass’s is that they can decrease inflammation, clear the body of toxic chemicals and decrease blood fat leves including the heart and arteries.
