This TCM herbal formula is best suited in conditions of kidney yang deficiency with insufficient fire at the gate of vitality. Kidney yang is also known as source yang and is the basis for the yang of the entire body.

When preparing this Chinese medicine herbal formula one should grind all herbal ingredients into a fine powder and form into small pills with honey. Each dosage should be 6-9 grams one or two times daily with a glass of warm water. Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Glutinosae conquitae) is usually substituted with Sheng Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae Glutinosae) by today’s practitioners.
This Chinese herbal formula contains Liu Wei Di Huang Wan with warming herbs added to aid yang Qi. Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan is generally prescribed to nourish and tonify both yin and yang of the kidneys.
