Main Action of Ju He Wan

The functions of this Chinese medicine formula are to promote Qi circulation and alleviate pain while softening hardness to dissipate clumps. This TCM herbal formula is best suited for conditions of damp cold stagnating the liver meridian giving rise to hernia like symptoms. This cold stagnation may also cause the testicles to become stagnated giving rise to a colicky pain or swelling in this area. Ju He (Semen Citri Reticulatae, Tangerine Seeds) – 30g.

Jin Ling Zi (Fructus Meliae Toosendan) – 30g.

Cooking Preparation of Ju He Wan

When preparing this Chinese medicine formula one should grind all the ingredients into a fine powder and form into pills with wine. The usual dosage is 6-9 grams taken 1-2 times daily with the wine specified above. Ju He Wan is also prepared in decoction with an appropriate dosage decrease.
