Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng, Ginseng Root)
-tonify lung and spleen Qi
Bai Zhu (Rhizoma Atractyloids Macrocephaeiae, Atractylodes (white) Rhizome)
-tonify spleen Qi
Fu Ling (Sclerotium Poriae Cocos, China-root, Poria, Hoelen)
-tonify spleen Qi and dry dampness
Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis, Licorice Root)
-tonify Qi, harmonize
Ban Xia (Rhizoma Pinelliae Tematae, Pinellia Rhizome)
-dries dampness, clears phlegm
Chen Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Tangerine Peel, Citrus)
-promotes movement of Qi, strengthen spleen
Cook similar to that of Si Jun Zi Tang.
This formula is a modified form of Si Jun Zi Tang when there is more stuffiness in the chest and abdominal distention.
